The Young Musician's University immerses students in one of the best music educational learning experiences possible without being enrolled in a college program, all before the age of 18!
AT YMU OUR PARENTS MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE!
Let’s be honest, learning to play a musical instrument is not the easiest choice of extra-curricular activities. It not only requires lesson participation but also practice and lots of parental support.
AT YMU, OUR PARENTS MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE!
That is why a partnership is important for the success of our students. Over the past 18 years, we've found that students who thrive in our environment have supportive parents who desire to be fully involved in their child's music education as well as promote positive character development in their child.
Research has shown that parents can increase a child's academic success through their involvement with schools and communities. Parental involvement improves student morale, attitudes, and academic achievement across all subject areas. That's why a partnership between us, the child, and the parent is an essential ingredient in the success of our students. We believe that education is not only the responsibility of the student or the learning institution but the parents as well.
We don't expect parents to know it all, especially when it comes to music. That's why we've created the YMU Parent University and we provide our families with tools such as our Learning Management System. Our goal is to empower YMU parents through useful resources and information so that they can in turn support their children and assist them as they grow musically.
We support our students and their parents every step of the way to achieve their goals throughout their musical journey with us because we understand that learning to play an instrument takes patience, persistence, and focus — the same qualities students need to excel in school and in their future career.
