Confessions of a Music Mom

Hello! My name is Mrs. Gray, and this is my confession of a music mom. I am so happy to be celebrating GMG's 17th anniversary and this year Mr. Gray and I will be celebrating our 21st wedding anniversary! When people meet me they assume that I've always been working with my husband at GMG, but I actually received my undergraduate degree in Sociology in 2000 with hopes of first becoming a family counselor. Mr. Gray began the school in 2003, teaching out of the back of an adult daycare facility with just a hand full of students. It wasn't until some years later that I joined him full time. I was apprehensive at first because I was walking out my own career path and had a really good job that I enjoyed. To be transparent, in my mind I was thinking, I didn’t go to school to be a receptionist. I eventually came on board, but it wasn’t until I became open to the idea and understood my calling that things began to fall into place. God was teaching me an important lesson about unity, agreement and walking together. I was there to be more than a receptionist, I’ve been that family counselor that I desired to be many times over and I found myself working closely with our students in the areas of life skills, academic development and just helping them with their life

issues. I found my "why", my calling and I am truly passionate about what we do. My husband and I say that music is a tool that is used to connect with others!
