GMG Celebrates 17 Years of Giving the Gift of Music!

Updated: May 24, 2020

As of March 2020 GMG has been Giving the Gift of Music for 17 years! Wow! What a journey it has been. When GMG first started in Orangeburg in 2003 it was simply a piano studio, but the visionary, Mr. Gray always saw greater. Over time GMG evolved and started offering drums, vocal, and guitar classes in addition to teaching piano. GMG has always been family-oriented, our daughter Kierra, who was 4 at the time, was one of our first piano students. She practically grew up with GMG! We've been blessed to have taught so many students, and watching them grow into wonderful young adults is priceless. Just being a part of their journey means so much to us!

When Kierra graduated from High School we found out that we were expecting another child and in 2017 we celebrated the birth of our second daughter, Kylie Grace. She changed our family for the better and in this, we not only wanted to be great business owners, but also great parents so we decided to downsize the music school. Downsizing was not in our original plans, but there's a saying that says if you want to make God laugh tell him your plans. God knew just what we needed and to this day we continue to give the gift of music to students ages 4-18, while at the same time focusing more on our family.

The future for GMG is bright! We are working to expand our reach in Music Education and Media through the development of new music education curricula, creating opportunities for students to learn music online, producing an online TV and Radio network, and providing opportunities to educate young musicians about the entertainment industry. In addition to music, GMG's focus has always been on family connection, faith, and the arts. It's such a blessing to be able to take all of the lessons learned from running our business over the past 17 years and present it in a way that will help others.

I think 17 Years is quite an accomplishment, but seeing the fruit of our labor and those who have labored alongside us makes all the difference! We would like to thank our GMG Parents and Students for all of the support and encouragement you've given along the way. We truly do appreciate every one of you!
